Dodge Trucks and Paul Harvey

We are Ford truck people on this farm, but that may change after the Super Bowl!

I love, love, love this commercial that celebrates the American Farmer. If you didn't watch it, please take a moment and check it out here.

This reminds me so much of my dad, granddad, and father-in-law. All men who worked the land and loved doing it.

The hands tell the story.

And now, of course, my husband and sons continue the tradition.

Long hard days.

Worries about the weather.

Very high input costs.

Worries about the weather.

So many things totally out of our control.

STRESS.

The smell of dirt.

Being one's own boss.

Plants poking up through soil.

The smell of rain.

Satisfaction of doing something REALLY important.

Good Tired.

Farming is in their blood.

God put it there.

  8. That was such a powerful commercial. It made me cry and smile at the same time. I was so grateful that the farmer was portrayed in such a positive way. I am in awe of men and women who work so hard to provide such good things for our country. I am thankful for the food that my family is able to eat because of the hard work of families like yours. Thank you so much. You all are truly appreciated and loved.

  14. Hi Susan, So nice to meet you and visit your lovely blog. I have so enjoyed this post. While my family is not in farming, I can so relate to being a FORD family. My dad worked there for 35 years, retired and died a Ford man. Hard work, and the good tired, I can so relate too.
Thank you for stopping by and your kind comment and new following.
    Wishing you a wonderful day.
    Blessings, Celestina Marie

  15. What a wonderful post... my dad was a farmer until WWII turned him into a mechanic, but that was only on the outside and his day job, he remained a good farmer all his life.
