Our family received some bad news the other day. I don't want to go into detail here because it isn't only my story to tell, but I am sure that you can empathize without knowing the specifics.
The wind was knocked out of my sails and I was heartbroken.
I couldn't fall apart when I got the call because of the little ones who were with me, so I put on my happy face and did my best-ever acting job for the next few hours.
When I was finally alone and could cry, I reached for my Bible for the words of my Comforter. I turned to Psalms and asked for my God to help me through this.
He led me to Psalm 73:23.......
"Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand."
That was just what I needed to hear. We were not forgotten. God would be there and help us through this trial.
Flashback a month.....
On a whim, I signed up to participate in an encouragement challenge on Adventures of D and V, a blog I had never even visited before. The challenge was to pray for the person you were partnered with for a month and then send a note of encouragement.
My partner was Barbie, who lives in California. She did not really know me. She had no idea what I was going through.
BUT.
A few days ago, I received my encouragement card from her, which said......
"......As I've been praying for you, I kept hearing, 'He makes all things beautiful in their time.' Ecclesiastes 3:11. I don't know what that means to you, if anything, but I do pray that God will reveal His beauty to you in all things......"
Little did she know, that verse meant everything to me.
The situation in our lives will not be changed, but I am trusting that God will make beauty from ashes once again.
That is the kind of God I serve!
One who shows me in His word that he loves and cares for ME.
One who uses another believer who is a complete stranger and lives across the country to encourage and give me hope and to transform my heart.
If you don't know about God and His son, Jesus, please talk to someone who does.
Or, contact me and I'll tell you the Good News!
sending you hugs, blessings and prayers..
