Do you have a denim jacket? If not, my fashion advice is, "Run out and get one now."
I bet you will be glad you did.
The girl in this video is a LOT younger than I am, but I am totally going to copy the spirit of her outfits and adapt them to my life.
I have two that I love to wear and neither of them is new. One of them I picked up several years ago and is a Converse from Target. It is made from a stretchy black denim.
I also have one from Gap that I paid more for than I intended, but it was so worth it!
I wear my jackets over and over and over, so the cost per wear is down to pennies.
I don't claim to be a fashion expert, unless watching too many episodes of Project Runway qualifies me, but if you are so inclined, I suggest finding a jacket with some stretch that isn't boxy and wear the heck out of it!
I spent a little time window shopping on pinterest and here is what I found........
This acute example from True Religion. Downside-It costs $228 . Holy Guacamole!
I personally like this one even better and it is from American Eagle. Not sure if I could get my arm in something from that store, but I bet the price is right!
Love this look from Atlanta/Pacific |
Denim and Denim-love it! |
I love the fancy shirt with the denim! |
I have a closet full of dresses and skirts that I used to love to wear when I taught school. Now I throw them on with a denim jacket and more casual shoes and I am still wearing them.
So what do you think, girls? Are you a fan of the classic denim jacket, too?
Hugs!
My denim jacket from the Gap is probably my favorite thing in my closet. I love to pair it with any and everything. The only thing that's spared are my running shorts.....hmmmm, no there's an idea! Just kidding....maybe! ;-)

Demin always says comfort to me, so it's usually what I go for first in my closet. I have a denim jacket, though not stylish like the ones you showed. A few years ago, I got a longer one at Dillard's or JC Penny's. It's more like a regular jacket and is warm, so I often wear it all the way into winter on days when the weather isn't too cold.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised wearing different shades of denim is in style as one of those pictures showed. I guess I've been ahead of my time because if I'm cold, I grab my jacket without thinking of what I'm wearing. Everyone always says wearing two denims is not stylish, so apparently I am rarely trendy.
Morning Susan, I have had a denim jacket since (well, many, many years ago). I also have my original Lee's from the 80's too. Hmm, always glad to see them come back into fashion. Hugs and smiles, Emilou :-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't worn a denim jacket in years. Let's just say I outgrew mine, and refuse to buy the size that actually fits me. I should probably run out and get one. The go with everything!
ReplyDeleteI love my denim jackets. I have a few in different styles. They go with everything and are perfect for our changing weather here in the Midwest. It's funny that denim on denim is no longer a no no. My kids used to make fun of me for doing that! Now it's stylish!

OOO, I am, indeed. And, I've had a denim jacket in my closet forever..well, not the same one. :)
ReplyDeleteI love denim and wear my jackets with EVERYthing.
Thanks for following...I am following right back..maybe we can meet in the middle and swap jackets for a day. :))
