Making Room

34
Holy week.

I don't know about you, but it seems like it has been really hard to focus on the important things during this Easter season.

Maybe it's because we are celebrating so early this year.

Maybe it is the way Christianity has been so marginalized in our society.

Easiest wreath ever...scraps, foam wreath form, glue gun...done.

Maybe it is the snow we had last week after the calendar said it was spring.

Maybe it is the unseasonably cold temps.

Maybe it is my cold heart.

Last weekend we were blessed to go to Winter Jam 2013 with our oldest granddaughter and some other adults and kids from our church. What a concert!

We heard fantastic, uplifting music from 10 different artists over a period of 5 hours. Most of that time we were on our feet, dancing and singing our hearts out.

Sidewalk Prophets, New Song, Jamie Grace, Toby Mac, to name just a few.

It was such a joy to watch our little girl at her first real concert-to see her laughing and singing and dancing.

Hopefully, she will remember that it is perfectly possible to have a wonderful time without alcohol, drugs, or filthy language.

My heart was most touched by Matthew West, an Illinois native, who attended this same concert series as a kid and realized that he should use his talents to glorify his Savior. He shared some stories of people who had experienced terrible things and how, through the love of Christ, they were able to forgive and go on. And we have to also.

We simply MUST forgive.

It is for our own good.

I am so very thankful that I have been forgiven,

that I don't have to work my way to heaven-my salvation is not based on my being good, or following rules.

I am so thankful that Jesus paid it all.

May I never take it for granted.

Wishing you and your family a blessed Resurrection Sunday!
