My feet are still a bit off the ground this morning as I think about the blessings I received at The Pearl Event II-The Double Strand. As soon as we walked in the doors and saw the double staircase, I knew we were going to have a special experience. I walked through the hotel many years ago and peeked into a room where Eddie Rabbit was singing-he is probably 90 now-and I was very impressed with the place!
We were greeted by Paige's adorable daughters. I hope they don't have bad dreams from the way we acted. What sweeties!
Since we arrived early, we were able to greet Sibi before the event began. We were somewhat familiar with her story and felt an instant connection with her because of the girls who work with us. She was just as kind and welcoming and glad to see us as we were to see her. She even offered to come speak at one of our meetings! To say we are thrilled would be an understatement!
Sibi you Rock!!!
I'm not going to give a blow by blow account because others will do that better than I can. So, let's just say Paige, Edie, Jane, Sarah, Brittany and Sibi love Jesus.
Each of them poured out encouragement and wisdom. I have lots of notes to prove it!
Each of them is beautiful inside and out.
Each of them had on cute outfits.
Each of them opened up and shared the messy and uncomfortable parts of their lives.
Each of them exemplified one of my favorite scriptures.....
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over in our lives, so also through Christ our comfort over flows." II Cor. 1: 3,4
It was evident during the Pearl ceremony that comfort had been received. Tears flowed and hugs received.
One of the themes of the event- to me anyway-was that we each have a story. It might not be as dramatic as someone else's but it is significant just the same. We need to be willing to share our story with others so that they can be comforted by the comfort we were given.
